Rants and Rambles

Hopefully Not Too Much Complaining Though...

Traffic

Being already licensed driver, I have no problem with what I am about propose :]

More limitations on getting a license. Doesn’t matter what it is, but here’s what I think it will bring about.

Stricter licensing will mean less licenses handed out, which means less people on the road, making traffic decrease. This will also put only better drivers on the road, decreasing the number of accidents.

But since people still need to get somewhere, they will either need to carpool or take public transit, which in turn will make the demand for gas go down, which will [if my economic thinking is right] make the price of gas go down, for the people on the road and everyone else who uses it. Since gas goes down, the general price of things will also probably go down, since almost everything somewhere in between the factory and the consumer has to take a plane, train, or truck to get to wherever it’s going. Plane tickets will be cheaper, things you buy in the store will be cheaper, etc.

Since more people will be efficiently using either the cars in the hands of better drivers or buses, the amount of gas used to transport the same number of people will fall off a cliff. The demand for public transport will increase, which will eventually lead to less congestion, and further down the line increase the demand for mass teleporters [totally joking]

Or you could introduce the system the Stockholm did
