Building 429 - Show Me Love
For a while, this was one of those songs that sounded nice because it had a nice beat, and was just musically pleasing, but eventually it made it off my playlist after I heard it so many times.
Well, my iPod died today, and I listened to the CD’s I had in the car, which I haven’t updated in at least a year and a half now, and this song came up.
I never listened to the lyrics much, but I did this time, and here’s a favorite part:
I know by you I am justified
But still I can’t seem to find the line
Where my works will match my faith
And I lay myself aside
And my actions fail to show
But in spite of me you seem to know
That I only want to love you
I can’t make it on my own
When my mind denies the love I know
My life sends nails through your bone
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
-Ephesians 2:8-10
What a nice reminder
